Tour Plan
Pick Up
At the beginning of the day, the Egy Travel Lux representative will meet you at your chosen location to transfer you to the Nile bank, where you’ll start the day trip.
Felucca ride
Elephantine Island lies opposite Aswan and is accessible only by small boat, so we’ll sail there by felucca (a traditional boat). You’ll be charmed by the surrounding landscape of the serene Nile, the sand hills, and the greenery.
Elephantine island
Elephantine Island holds significant historical importance as it served as the primary religious center for the worship of Khnum, the creator god in ancient Egypt. Additionally, its strategic location at the southern border of Egypt made it a vital trade and military hub.
Upon arrival, you’ll explore the ruins of the ancient temples of Khnum, Satet, and Anuket. With your knowledgeable guide, you’ll uncover the hidden stories buried within the temple ruins, bringing the island’s rich history vividly to life.
Then, we’ll head to the Elephantine Museum, where you can see the displays found on the island during excavations and mummified rams of the god Khnum.
You’ll also see the ancient nilometer, which was used to measure the levels of Nile water during the flood season.
In addition, there are two famous Nubian villages on the Elephantine island, where you can stroll through, see the beautifully colored houses, and meet the generous Nubian families.
Aswan Botanical Garden
After finishing our tour in Elephantine Island, we’ll sail to the nearby Kitchener’s Island to enjoy a magical tour at the Aswan Botanical Garden. You’ll discover hundreds of species of exotic plants and trees from different countries, in addition to various species of birds that you won’t find in any place in Egypt except here.
Besides, there are many walkways, rest areas, and photography spots. You can also visit the botanical museum, sip a cup of Nubian coffee in the cafeteria, or relax on the shore of the Nile.
Drop-off
At the end of this tranquil tour, you’ll have a felucca ride to return to Aswan. Then we’ll take you back to your hotel.
